Course Objective

This beginner-level course offers a comprehensive overview of aquascaping, covering visual styles, water chemistry, setup techniques, and ecosystem management.

Learners will gain essential skills in creating and maintaining beautiful aquatic environments, enhancing their competencies in plant care, filtration systems, and livestock management.

The course is highly relevant to the growing aquascaping industry, providing opportunities for career advancement and job upgrading in roles such as aquarium design and maintenance. Participants will be equipped with practical knowledge and troubleshooting techniques to ensure the health and safety of their aquatic life.responsible aquaculture methods to align with regulatory and market demands.

 

Assumed Skills & Knowledge / Pre-requisites

Learners must be above 21 years of age and are assumed to:

  • be able to read, write and communicate in English
  • have completed at least Secondary School or equivalent

Water Chemistry & Filtration – Learn to create a perfect aquatic environment with key parameters and filtration systems.

Aquascape Setup – Get hands-on with plants, lighting, and hardscape to bring your vision to life.

Ecology & Livestock Management – Maintain a balanced ecosystem with the right microbes, algae eaters, and compatible livestock.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting – Keep your aquascape thriving with routine care and problem-solving techniques.

Disease Identification & Safety – Ensure the health of your aquatic life and safety in your workspace

Fees and Funding

This course is applicable for SkillsFuture Funding up to 70%.

*From 1 Jan 2022, SkillsFuture course funding will be revised to a baseline of 50% subsidy, with an additional 20% subsidy (up to 70% subsidy) for SMEs and Mid-career individuals (Singapore citizens above 40 years old) . Do note that the funding amount advised is not final and is subject to changes.
